• Verify, assess, and approve promptly all claims within authority and for claims exceeding authority, recommend and submit them promptly to Superiors for consideration to meet Customer Service standards.
• Provide guidance and direction to subordinates, Branches, and Customers regarding technical claims matters to enhance customer service standards.
• Ensure prompt response and processing of claims, including the appointment of adjusters, surveyors, and lawyers, to maintain good customer service.
• Proactively liaise with appointed solicitors and/or third-party solicitors to amicably settle claims under the portfolio.
• Monitor cases where adjusters are appointed closely and submit monthly bordereaux on the status. If necessary, arrange meetings to discuss complex cases with adjusters after referring to the Head, Non-Motor Claims.
• Proactively attend to all recovery cases, monitor, update, and report to the Head, Non-Motor Claims on a monthly basis.
• Regularly review the performance of Adjusters and report the same to the Head, Non-Motor Claims.
• Immediately refer any complaints received from Customers, BNM, OFS, PIAM, and the Company's distribution channels to Superiors for prompt and effective resolution.
• Monitor and review files on a yearly basis.
• Ensure all claims suspected of having fraud elements or in violation of policy conditions are brought to the attention of the Head, Non-Motor Claims, and in their absence, to the Head, Underwriting & Claims / CEO.
• Ensure all necessary advice to Treaty Reinsurers/XOL is submitted as required under the Reinsurance Agreement.
• Authorize and sign claim settlement cheques within authority limit.
• Any other duties as may be assigned by the Company from time to time.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree - Degree holder.
• Professional Qualification in Insurance e.g., ACII / AMII.
• At least 7 years of claims experience in all classes of insurance.
• Strong planning and leadership skills.
• Sound Claims Knowledge/Analytical skills.
• Possess good communication skills in both written and spoken English.
