Develop and implement a strategic sales plan for the assigned region, targeting key customers such as hospitals, clinics, obstetricians, gynecologists, fertility specialists, genetic counselors, GP practitioners, and other healthcare professionals.
Promote and sell a range of clinical laboratory tests, with a focus on genetic testing, NIPT, and women’s health related services.
Identify new business opportunities and actively generate leads through networking, cold calling, and attending relevant healthcare events.
Conduct presentations and demonstrations of the products/services to potential clients, addressing their needs and answering any technical questions.
Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key healthcare professionals, clinic owners, hospital decision-makers, and laboratory managers.
Regularly visit healthcare providers to ensure customer satisfaction and to provide updates on new products, services, and promotions.
Serve as the main point of contact for inquiries and resolve any issues or concerns from clients in a timely and professional manner.
Product Knowledge & Education:
Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the company’s clinical laboratory tests, including the latest advancements in genetic testing and non-invasive prenatal screening.
Educate healthcare professionals and potential clients on the benefits, processes, and scientific evidence supporting genetic and prenatal testing.
Stay updated on market trends, competitive products, and regulatory changes affecting the clinical laboratory and genetic testing industry.
Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets as set by management.
Prepare sales reports, forecasts, and performance updates for management, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and areas for growth.
Collaborate with the marketing team to plan and execute sales campaigns, promotions, and events.
Compliance & Documentation:
Ensure all activities are conducted in compliance with relevant medical and industry regulations, as well as company policies.
Maintain accurate records of client interactions, sales activities, and transaction details.
Provide necessary documentation and reports to support billing and invoicing processes.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education:
A degree in life sciences, biomedical sciences, medical laboratory technology, or a related field is preferred.
Relevant sales training or certifications are a plus.
Experience:
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in sales, preferably in medical or healthcare-related fields (clinical laboratory, diagnostic tests, or pharmaceutical sales).
Previous experience with genetic testing or non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT) is highly desirable.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with healthcare professionals.
In-depth understanding of clinical laboratory services, with the ability to explain complex medical concepts in an easily understandable manner.
Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and comfortable working independently as well as part of a team.
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, competitive environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM software (e.g., Salesforce).
Language:
Proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia and English is essential. Knowledge of Mandarin or other local languages would be an advantage.
Travel:
Frequent travel within Johor and other assigned regions is required.
