Your new role
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Sales Finance Analyst to join the finance team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of sales and finance, providing key insights that drive business decisions and growth. You will play a pivotal role in analysing sales performance, managing budgets, and ensuring financial alignment with strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Performance Analysis
- Analyse sales data, trends, and profitability across categories, channels, and regions.
- Prepare detailed reports and dashboards to support decision-making for sales and finance teams.
- Monitor and assess key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify growth opportunities and risks.
- Budgeting and Forecasting
- Collaborate with the sales team to develop, monitor, and manage sales budgets and forecasts.
- Conduct variance analysis to compare actual results against forecasts and provide actionable recommendations.
- Support trade spend and promotional activity analysis to ensure ROI optimisation.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual sales financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure data accuracy and compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards.
- Assist in the preparation of presentations for leadership and external partners.
- Business Partnering
- Act as a key liaison between the sales and finance teams, providing financial insights to support strategic decisions.
- Work with cross-functional teams (marketing, operations, supply chain) to align sales strategies with financial objectives.
- Support commercial teams in pricing strategies and margin improvement initiatives.
- Process Improvement
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency in sales finance operations.
- Leverage advanced tools and analytics to improve reporting and decision-making capabilities.
What you'll need to succeed
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in financial analysis, preferably in FMCG or a related industry.
- Strong proficiency in Excel, financial modelling, and data visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Solid understanding of financial principles, P&L management, and sales analytics.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP) is a plus.
- Highly analytical mindset with attention to detail.
- Team player with a proactive approach to collaboration.
