Sales and Marketing Operations Director

We're hiring! We are looking for a Sales and Marketing Operations Director to join our team in KL, Malaysia. This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from the office.

What the day will look like

This role requires you to be proactive, detail oriented, and punctual. Reporting to the Head of Sales & Marketing, Malaysia you will be responsible for sales coordination tasks including pipeline and data management. You will act as the Aon Connect (Aon’s CRM) champion, driving best practice, and ensuring data is accurate and updated in a timely manner. You will coordinate our marketing strategy working closely with Aon’s regional marketing team, and solution experts in developing localised content. You will help the sales team prepare presentations for client pitches and respond to select RFP’s. This is a role suited for someone who can drive an organization wide process, implement a plan, and proactively identify marketing opportunities that fit within our growth agenda.

Key Accountabilities:

1. Marketing & Brand Coordination

  • Proactive and routine monitoring of upcoming business events taking place in Malaysia, report to head of Sales and Marketing for assessment of speaking opportunities and/or sales networking opportunities
  • Take ownership of the development of the Malaysia Marketing Hub. This includes driving the standardisation of base templates, the accuracy of Aon introductory information, and coordinate with the Head of Sales & Marketing to localise select global content with the input of solution head experts
  • Conduct local market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitor analysis
  • Track and report engagement/analytics of marketing campaigns and return on investment/leads from marketing events
  • Develop relationships with the regional marketing and bid management teams
  • Gain a deep knowledge of the Aon regional and global marketing guidelines
  • Support the sales team improve the look & feel of prospect presentations using global/regional standards as a guideline
  • Coordinate Aon Malaysia’s social media presence and support Head of Sales & Marketing, CEO and other business leaders with their digital engagement
  • Assist with organizing any local events i.e. client conferences, seminars etc.
  • Understand and champion Aon branding standards
  • Serve as a liaison between sales, marketing, and other business units to ensure seamless communication

2. Sales Coordination

  • Support the Head of Sales & Marketing develop and execute the sales strategy in Malaysia
  • Oversee the marketing leads funnel, qualify real leads, and report to head of Sales & Marketing for allocation to relevant sales team members
  • Undertake local research on prospects / industry sectors as directed by the sales leader / sales team to support local market plans
  • Generate sales pipeline reports and ensure data is updated and accurate by relevant teams
  • Help the sales team to prepare presentations and tender responses (prepare Microsoft Word and PowerPoint presentations using Aon templates)
  • Collate the team wins on a quarterly basis
  • Support the Head of Sales & Marketing on other sales initiatives and strategy as directed

3. Aon Connect

  • Lead biannual Aon Connect training sessions for Malaysia colleagues and new hires to drive a culture of best practice around CRM management
  • Generate weekly and monthly sales reports and management reports for Country CEO & Sales Leader using Aon Connect including country, team and individual sales colleague reports
  • Provide sales colleague reports for the purposes of monitoring Sales Incentive Plan (SIP) performance
  • Manage Aon Connect data integrity – active monitoring of overdue opportunities, push counters, aged opportunities, stagnant leads & opportunities, closed won under 30 days, close won ratios, avg. deal size ratios and so forth to support the sales leader in optimizing productivity and growth
  • Understand the use of Aon Connect for forecast purposes, and support the sales leader in championing the use of Aon Connect for forecasting
  • Create any ad hoc reports on Aon Connect as directed by the sales leader
  • Become expert user on Aon Connect, be a go to person for colleagues & respond to queries as required
  • Manage Aon Connect license requests and case queue
  • Carry out monthly Aon Connect on-boarding / refresher / update training sessions
  • Support finance team with harmonisation of data between Aon Connect and Clickview

4. Operational Excellence: Aon Client Promise / Aon Brokers Guide / Time Recording / Pricing & Commission Grids

  • Project management, data analysis of the Aon Operational Excellence initiatives
