Safety Officer

Company Overview:
We are a leading plastic manufacturing company with over 800 employees, including both local and foreign workers. Our company is committed to providing a safe, healthy, and efficient working environment to ensure every employee works under optimal conditions. To strengthen our safety management, we are looking for a Safety Officer to oversee daily safety operations and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Oversee and manage safety within the factory to ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and company policies.
2. Regularly inspect factory equipment, facilities, and work environments for safety, identifying and reporting potential hazards.
3. Develop and update Safety Operating Procedures (SOPs) and conduct safety training for employees.
4. Organize and conduct regular safety drills and emergency response exercises.
5. Participate in accident investigations, analyze the causes, and propose corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
6. Monitor the usage and condition of safety equipment to ensure it is properly maintained and compliant.
7. Coordinate external safety inspections and certification processes to ensure the factory meets local safety laws and regulations.
8. Handle any ad hoc tasks or assignments from the superior or management as needed.
9. Regularly report safety conditions to superiors or management and suggest improvements.

Job Requirements:

1. Minimum of a Diploma in Safety Management, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
2. At least 4 years of experience in the manufacturing industry/ factory safety management, preferably in a plastic manufacturing environment.
3. Familiarity with Malaysian safety regulations and standards; certifications such as OSH are an advantage.
4. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with employees and management.
5. High level of responsibility with the ability to independently identify and resolve safety hazards.
6. Proficiency in English and Malay, with the ability to communicate with a diverse workforce.
7. Experience in emergency response and accident investigation is preferred.
