Safety Officer

This role will require travelling between Tebrau & Senai Plants.

Responsibilities:

• To plan and supervise safety matters and requirement for the plant
• To formulate, implement and ensure that all Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures, rules and regulations are adhered to and are regularly reviewed, updated and communicated.
• Ensure all environmental, safety and health (EHS) procedures and reporting comply to local regulations such as Department of Safety and Health (DOSH), Department of Environment (DOE), Ministry of Health and BOMBA, NIOSH, EQA, UBBL to analyze the workplace, assess risks and make recommendations for preventive measures to maximize workplace safety.
• Conducting Health & Safety related induction training programs to all employees as per required
• Ensuring effective operation of safety management and compliance by all workers
• To schedule, organize, conduct and supervise company’s Health & Safety committee and meetings
• To conduct investigation into any accident or near miss occurrence at all sites and submit report to head office
• To suggest corrective action and preventive methods or procedures to avoid reoccurrence of accidents at work site
• To coordinate, monitor or conduct safety training on safety procedures at all work sites and to promote awareness on safety
• To advise management on any changes in Health & Safety legislation.
• To foster an understanding of injury prevention and damage control
• Keep up to date codes of practices and circulate any new Health & Safety literature or relevant information to all levels of employees
• To prepare & submit documents including safe work method statement, height mitigation plan, logistic plan, risk assessment plan etc.

Requirements :

• Diploma / Degree in Environment and Occupational Health or Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent, recognized by the Department of Safety Health (DOSH) Malaysia
• Must be registered as a Safety Officer with Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) with valid license (Green Book)
• Minimum 2 - 3 years’ experience and above working experiences as Safety Officer in the Construction industry preferably in high rise
• Able to lead and manage the safety and health teams for multiple projects
• Working knowledge of ISO standards and the preparation, implementation and maintenance of the quality management system is an added advantage
• Good communication skills, strong personality and positive attitude
