Job Description:
Ensure compliance with local safety regulations, standards, and company policies.
Stay updated on Malaysian Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) and other relevant legislation.
Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits to identify potential hazards.
Develop and implement risk control measures to mitigate identified risks.
Organize and conduct safety training programs for employees to promote safety awareness.
Prepare safety manuals and instructional materials.
Investigate accidents and incidents to determine causes and recommend corrective actions.
Maintain accurate records of incidents and safety inspections.
Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures.
Conduct drills and simulations to ensure staff readiness.
Perform regular inspections of the workplace to ensure safety standards are met.
Document findings and recommend improvements to management.
Prepare safety reports and presentations for management and regulatory bodies.
Track and analyze safety performance metrics.
Requirements:
Degree holder in OSHA/ Degree holder in other related fields may be entertained (Eg: Business Admin, Communication, project management, ESG or other equivalent).
Candidate must be certified Safety and Health Officer (SHO) and obtain Green Book from NIOSH.
Able to interact with local authorities, consultants, contractors and all level of staffs.
Computer Literate, Good command of written and spoken English, Malay and Mandarin.
Knowledge in the fields of safety compliance and auditing.
Proven experience as a Safety and Health Officer or in a similar role.
Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and standards.
