Safety & Health Officer (SHO)

Job Responsibilities

• Ensure construction activities comply with workplace health and safety regulations, such as OSHA or local guidelines.
• Conduct hazard identification and risk assessments (HIRA) for ongoing and planned activities.
• Organize and conduct safety training for workers and site supervisors, covering topics such as PPE, fall protection, and emergency response.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, or near-misses on-site, prepare detailed reports, and recommend preventive measures.
• Maintain records of all safety incidents and prepare statistics for management.
• Maintain and update site-specific safety documents, including safety data sheets (SDS), permits, and inspection records.
• Prepare weekly or monthly safety performance reports for management review.
• Collaborate with site managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure safety is integrated into project planning and execution.

Requirements

• Diploma or degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science, or a related field.
• Safety certifications such as DOSH often required.
• Previous experience in construction safety or a related field (2-5 years preferred).
• Flexible to work outstation.
