Your impact

As a SHO Officer, you will join our collaborative team working on assignments within our client’s organization. You will serve as Safety & Health Officer for a large infrastructure project in Kota Tinggi, Johor, Malaysia.

Responsibilities

  1. Establish working relationships and provide visible HSE technical support and leadership to the project team.
  2. Provide governance oversight to ensure alignment and consistent implementation of the project HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) requirements.
  3. Assist the Project Management team to review and provide comments on project Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) plans and hazard assessments.
  4. Review contractors’ site-specific safety plans for compliance with the client’s standards and local regulations.
  5. Verify that contractors are monitoring safety compliance with their site-specific safety plans and local regulations.
  6. Participate in pre-construction and major component pre-mobilization meetings.
  7. Coordinate and manage periodic safety walks with Project Managers and contractor safety personnel.
  8. Raise safety observations and encourage the project team to engage in the observation reporting process.
  9. Provide periodic reports to the project team documenting compliance issues, safety-related challenges, incidents, and observations.
  10. Review contractor incident investigations and provide comments on investigations and related trends.
  11. Track and analyze safety performance and trends and provide recommendations for program improvement.
  12. Support Health & Safety initiatives.

Here's what you'll need

  • Competent and registered with DOSH (Department of Occupational, Safety and Health) or NEBOSH - Green Book Holder.
  • A related Degree/Diploma holder, undergraduate, or post-graduate qualification.
  • Minimum five (5) years of relevant experience in a similar role.
