As a SHO Officer, you will join our collaborative team working on assignments within our client’s organization. You will serve as Safety & Health Officer for a large infrastructure project in Kota Tinggi, Johor, Malaysia.
Responsibilities
- Establish working relationships and provide visible HSE technical support and leadership to the project team.
- Provide governance oversight to ensure alignment and consistent implementation of the project HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) requirements.
- Assist the Project Management team to review and provide comments on project Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) plans and hazard assessments.
- Review contractors’ site-specific safety plans for compliance with the client’s standards and local regulations.
- Verify that contractors are monitoring safety compliance with their site-specific safety plans and local regulations.
- Participate in pre-construction and major component pre-mobilization meetings.
- Coordinate and manage periodic safety walks with Project Managers and contractor safety personnel.
- Raise safety observations and encourage the project team to engage in the observation reporting process.
- Provide periodic reports to the project team documenting compliance issues, safety-related challenges, incidents, and observations.
- Review contractor incident investigations and provide comments on investigations and related trends.
- Track and analyze safety performance and trends and provide recommendations for program improvement.
- Support Health & Safety initiatives.
Here's what you'll need
- Competent and registered with DOSH (Department of Occupational, Safety and Health) or NEBOSH - Green Book Holder.
- A related Degree/Diploma holder, undergraduate, or post-graduate qualification.
- Minimum five (5) years of relevant experience in a similar role.
