• To maintain, enforce and improve safety related matters with respect to Department Occupational Safety and Health Malaysia requirement.
• To liaise with relevant agencies on matters relating to OSHA requirement.
• To facilitate the implementation of safety and health procedures and to conduct safety audits.
• Identify, investigate and report on root causes for incidents and accidents; subsequent to conduct risk assessment and facilities training for employees with respect to all safety issues.
• To promote, establish, and implement Health and Safety procedures and awareness among the workforce and facilitate safety and health committee meeting minutes.
• Ensure safety compliance to all legal related requirements.
• To conduct safety inspection on emergency equipment, such as fire fighting equipment and first aid facilities.
• To compile, analyze and maintain related documents and records to ensure compliance to legal and internal standard requirements.
• Study production and machine requirements.
• Integrate disparate systems (equipment handling, transport, working tools, man working hour, etc.).
• Optimize facility layout, production lines, and operation performance (effectiveness and efficiency).
• Training materials preparation for new and existing operation workers (WI, SOP, tools handling).
• Develop and implement cost-saving measures and quality control systems.
• Collaborate with Production department to schedule repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous production operations.
• Direct, coordinate and review the work plan for assigned maintenance services and activities; assign work activities and projects; monitor work flow; review and evaluate work products, methods and procedures; identify and resolve problems.
• Liaise with BOMBA on factory’s fire related issues including licensing, and access to BOMBA appointed web portal.
• Liaise with DOE on factory’s scheduled waste including licensing, and access to DOE appointed web portal.
• Coordinate with TNB for plant shutdown operations, PMA calibration, and any relevant activities.
• To work on shift or odd hours if necessary.
• Ad-hoc assignments as assigned from superior from time to time.
JOB REQUIREMENT:
• Candidate must possess at least a Diploma / Bachelor Degree in Engineering / Mechanical / Electrical / Facilities / Industrial or equivalent / Bachelor Degree in Occupational Safety and Health.
• Certified Safety and Health Officer (SHO) and obtain Green book from DOSH is an advantage.
• At least 2 years of working experience in manufacturing or facilities field with Safety and health working experience.
• Independent, hardworking, and with self-initiative.
• Multi-lingual skills in speaking or writing in Bahasa, Chinese, and English.
• Computer proficiency: Microsoft, Auto-CAD, or equivalent, PLC programming skills (preferred).
• Root cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
