SAFETY AND HEALTH OFFICER (VALID GREEN BOOK)

Responsibilities:

1. Overall responsibility for safety and health at the construction site.
2. Establish, review, and implement Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) policies and procedures for the company.
3. Effectively communicate policies and procedures to all employees in order to enhance their awareness towards EHS.
4. Liaise with local authorities and government agencies on statutory / legislature compliance matters related to health, safety and environment.
5. Act as the main controller for Materials Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
6. Perform HSSE inspection & HSSE walkabout to assess subcontractors’ HSSE performance in the project, if applicable.
7. Conduct routine audits and inspections.
8. Liaise with JKKP authority regarding erection & safety of scaffolding & machineries.
9. Ensure all personnel/workers wear safety equipment at work and adhere to the safety rules.
10. Initiate and enforce disciplinary actions against personnel/workers who fail to comply with the Company’s ESH policy.
11. Oversee the Quality Assurance and Quality Control of finished works at the site.
12. Regularly monitor and evaluate the project site to ensure compliance with Site Safety & Health Rules (SSHR).
13. Conduct Safety Meeting and maintain necessary records.
14. Investigate & review all accidents and health related incidents, and initiate countermeasures to prevent similar reoccurrence.
15. Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the management.

Requirements:

1. Registered as Qualified Safety & Health Officer with DOSH (Department of Occupation Safety & Health, Malaysia) with a valid Green Book.
2. At least 3 year(s) of working experience in the related field.
3. Familiar with OHSMS standards.
4. Possess own transport, able to travel outstation & work independently with minimum supervision.
