Safety and Health Officer

• Establish and enforce safety standards within the project site including safety protocols, conduct safety audits and communication on safety procedures.
• Provide trainings and communications to all project site staff, teaching them on equipment & chemicals handling, emergency response, safety processes & protocols, etc.
• Carry out regular safety inspections/audits to ensure safe work methods and compliance to safety and health requirements.
• Prepare, write, submit reports and manage HSE documentations and records.
• Assist the Project Manager and HSE Committee in investigating incidents, analyze the causes and develop measures to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
• Review emergency response plans and ensure that the project site is well-equipped to handle crises such as fires, chemical spills or natural disasters.
• Develop and review HIRARC, aspect and impact assessment for potential environmental hazards.
• Assist the Project Manager in monitoring risks and other HSE related matters to ensure that the project site complies with the latest rules and regulations.

Job Specification:

• Possess a valid Green Book (DOSH registered).
• Possess a minimum of a Degree in Occupational Safety & Health Management or its equivalent.
• Possess a minimum of 5 years of proven working experience in medium/large scale construction projects. Experience in the construction of water treatment plants/related infrastructure will be an added advantage.
• Possess First Aider, Basic Scaffolding Inspector, AESP, AGT, Slinging & Rigging certifications will be an added advantage.
• Well versed in OSHA 1994, EQA 1974 and management system standards such as ISO14001, ISO45001 and ISO9001.
• Independent and possess good communication skills.
• Proactive and possess good leadership skills to resolve safety issues at the site.
• Willing to be based at the Sungai Buloh project site.
