Safety and Health Officer

About the role

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Safety and Health Officer to join the team at TME BUILDERS SDN. BHD. in Gotong Jaya, Pahang. As a full-time role, you will be responsible for ensuring the health, safety and environmental compliance of our construction site operations. This is a strategic position that plays a crucial role in maintaining a safe and productive work environment for our employees and contractors.

What you'll be doing

• Conducting regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards
• Developing, implementing and continuously improving health and safety policies, procedures and training programs
• Ensuring all workers are provided with the necessary personal protective equipment and that it is used correctly
• Investigating and reporting on all accidents, incidents and near-misses, and implementing corrective actions
• Liaising with regulatory authorities and conducting audits to maintain compliance with all health, safety and environmental legislation
• Providing expert advice and guidance to management and site teams on best practices for health, safety and environmental protection
• Monitoring and analysing safety data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement

What we're looking for

• Minimum 3 years' experience as a Safety and Health Officer in the construction industry
• Relevant qualifications in occupational health and safety, such as a Diploma or Degree in Safety and Health or a related field WITH GREEN BOOK CERTIFICATE.
• Strong working knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations, and the ability to interpret and apply them effectively
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with workers at all levels
• Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically to identify and mitigate risks
• Proficient in using safety management software and data analysis tools
• A valid Malaysian driving license and the ability to travel to construction sites as required
