Senior Designer – Offshore Facilities / 3D Modelling

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Designer to join a dynamic engineering team, working on cutting-edge offshore projects. In this role, you will be responsible for producing technically accurate, timely, and cost-effective models, drawings, and documentation, ensuring total project requirements are met.

You will play a key role in design execution, problem-solving, and technical coordination, providing expertise across multi-disciplinary teams. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on complex offshore developments, contributing to innovative solutions and high-quality deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently create accurate 3D models, drawings, and technical documentation, ensuring compliance with design rules and industry standards.
• Supervise and support assigned designers, ensuring quality and consistency across project deliverables.
• Solve complex engineering design challenges and verify modelling and drafting work.
• Coordinate activities to ensure integration within the wider project scope, maintaining high client satisfaction.
• Support engineering teams with lean solutions and technical input during project execution and tendering.
• Originate and check design deliverables, ensuring alignment with project specifications and schedules.
• Interface with third-party design teams, engineering services, and other disciplines throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide technical assistance, including site support and checking of design outputs.
• Support the Engineering Project Manager and Discipline Lead in defining resource requirements and project deliverables.
• Participate in client, supplier, and consultant meetings to provide technical support and resolve design-related queries.
• Contribute to the development of discipline technical notes and guidelines.
• Foster collaboration and positive relationships within the team and across professional networks.

Requirements

• Technical diploma with a minimum of 15 years’ experience in design and execution of offshore projects.
• Mandatory experience in 3D modelling using S3D software.
• Strong knowledge of material take-off, bill of quantities, and joint detailing.
• Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and general computer literacy.

Desirable Skills (Nice to Have)

• Experience in 3D modelling using E3D, Tekla, and BOCAD software.
• Understanding of fabrication and brownfield installation processes.
