RM&D Engineer (L1)

Main Responsibilities

• Meet cycle time and volumetric goals while ensuring quality for M&D notifications and reports
• Support and guide L1 Junior RM&D Engineers on daily front end customer issues
• Daily monitoring of the Monitoring & Diagnostic (M&D) fleet composed of aero-derivative and heavy-duty gas turbines, steam turbines, centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, electrical machines, gearboxes, auxiliaries and balance of plant
• Analyze data and alerts generated by M&D prognostic systems
• Troubleshoot technical issues on monitored fleet and communicate effectively verbally and in writing
• Work assigned weekends and holidays on a rotational basis (flexible compensation time received for weekend / holiday shifts)
• Validate automatic performance calculations on monitored equipment and identify nonconformities
• Support relevant customer RCA’s from technical perspective
• Participate, lead & share lessons learned to relevant stakeholders to improve deliverables to customers
• Prepare and review technical documentation such as trip root cause analyses, anomaly notifications
• Be available for critical issue resolution on claimed cases and assigned customers
• Use Smart Signal software including continuous tuning and proposals for optimization of machine models
• Navigate and interpret site-specific control software (e.g. MarkV / VI / VIe, Woodward / Micronet, Rx3i /GE Fanuc) and engineering documents (e.g. P&ID, Instrument List) to support technical analyses
• Support the development and deployment of diagnostic systems in terms of hardware, software, data acquisition and analytics
• Propose improvements or new analytics to enhance monitoring service
• Suggest customized analytics according to specific customer requirements
• Ensure completeness and quality of M&D data for selected customers
• Remotely support testing and troubleshooting activities at site, case by case basis for travel to site
• Urgency in attending to customer technical issues. Some flexibility is required, since breakdowns, failures and support requests could occur anytime during the day in a week
• RM&D engineer will cover wide domain of technical expertise. Challenge would be the ability to support and drive technical disposition in areas where candidate does not have in-depth technical expertise

• Ensure alignment and integration with colleagues involved in development of digital solutions and pilot projects
• Provide support to other engineering and business functions for data collection, analysis and path forward definition
• Present M&D and Digital Solutions capabilities to customers
