Resident Medical Officer (Internal Medicine)

The incumbent will be responsible for Sunway Medical Centre's Internal Medicine.

Job Responsibilities

• Oversee care of critically ill adult patients, under a diverse range of post-operative and emergency admissions, in the critical care unit and other inpatient wards.
• Assist in the management of unstable patients in other inpatient areas, e.g., post-major operations, freshly transferred from critical care units, carry out procedures and discharges where the consultant is not able to attend in time, e.g., catheterization / difficult NGT insertion.
• Attend to/assess verbal orders, e.g., sedation at night or radiology investigations, setting lines or taking blood samples, and responding to Codes for patients in a timely manner.

Requirements

• Possess a Medical Degree and be registered with the Malaysian Medical Council (MMC).
• Attended/trained in life support courses: ACLS / ALS, ATLS / MTLS, PALS / APLS, BLS, NRP, and other relevant courses related to emergency care or intensive care.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Internal Medicine.
• Ability to converse in Mandarin is preferred.
• Possess skills in all the procedures (IV line setting, arterial line, airway management, blood taking, catheterization).
• Able to understand technical issues in the medical field.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work long hours, shifts, and often under pressure.
• Effective decision-making and problem-solving skills.
