Responsibilities

• Respond to patients’ medical problems by referring to their history, carrying out diagnosis, treatment, counseling and referral, where necessary.
• Order lab tests and interpret the test results.
• Maintain confidentiality and impartiality at all times.
• Collect, record and maintain sensitive patient information such as examination results, medical history and reports.
• Explain procedures or prescribed treatments to patients.
• Liaise with medical professionals in the community and hospitals.
• Promote health education in conjunction with other health professionals.
• Meet targets set by government for specified treatments eg. Child immunization.
• Discuss and evaluate new pharmaceutical products with pharmaceutical representatives.
• Keep up-to-date with medical developments, treatment and medication.
• Maintain regularly updated patient medical records that document all evaluations, medications, treatments, allergies, test results and other records.
• Evaluate a patient's symptoms and determine the most appropriate course of treatment to address them.
• Prescribe medications in compliance with State and Federal statutes and inform patients of all possible risks, complications and interference with other medications they may be taking.

Competencies

• Degree in Medical
• Latest Annual Practice Certificate (APC)
• Ability to manage out-patient department cases
• Ability to perform basic Antenatal / Ultrasound / Check-up
• Ability to perform basic surgical procedures such as Toilet & Suturing (T&S), Circumcision, Removal of Cyst, Incision & drainage of abscess, etc.

• Expected salary: RM7,500 - RM8,500 per month
