Respond to patients’ medical problems by referring to their history, carrying out diagnosis, treatment, counseling and referral, where necessary.
Order lab tests and interpret the test results.
Maintain confidentiality and impartiality at all times.
Collect, record and maintain sensitive patient information such as examination results, medical history and reports.
Explain procedures or prescribed treatments to patients.
Liaise with medical professionals in the community and hospitals.
Promote health education in conjunction with other health professionals.
Meet targets set by government for specified treatments eg. Child immunization.
Discuss and evaluate new pharmaceutical products with pharmaceutical representatives.
Keep up-to-date with medical developments, treatment and medication.
Maintain regularly updated patient medical records that document all evaluations, medications, treatments, allergies, test results and other records.
Evaluate a patient's symptoms and determine the most appropriate course of treatment to address them.
Prescribe medications in compliance with State and Federal statutes and inform patients of all possible risks, complications and interference with other medications they may be taking.
Competencies
Degree in Medical
Latest Annual Practice Certificate (APC)
Ability to manage out-patient department cases
Ability to perform basic Antenatal / Ultrasound / Check-up
Ability to perform basic surgical procedures such as Toilet & Suturing (T&S), Circumcision, Removal of Cyst, Incision & drainage of abscess, etc.
