RESIDENCE IT SUPPORT (SUNWAY, SELANGOR)

We are seeking a skilled Contract Resident IT Support to provide on-site technical assistance to our client's office located in Sunway, Selangor. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and supporting IT systems, resolving technical issues, and ensuring the smooth operation of computer hardware, software, and networks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide on-site technical support to end-users, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
• Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, peripherals, and software applications.
• Manage Windows Server Active Directory (AD), including setting up and maintaining user accounts, groups, permissions, and configuring Group Policy Objects (GPOs) to implement system-wide settings and security measures.
• Set up and maintain Sophos VPN configurations, including site-to-site VPN and remote access VPN, troubleshooting connection issues and ensuring strong encryption protocols.
• Monitor and maintain the health of the AD environment, including troubleshooting replication issues and conducting backups and restoration of the AD database.
• Maintain LAN/WAN networks, configure firewall rules for VPN traffic, and ensure VPN integration into the existing network infrastructure.
• Document and track IT issues, resolutions, and procedures for future reference, ensuring clarity for end-users and other IT staff.
• Collaborate with the IT team to implement and maintain IT policies, procedures, and standards, including security protocols for VPN and AD.
• Train end-users on basic IT tasks, VPN access, and best practices for security and productivity.
• Participate in contract-specific IT projects, including system upgrades and network security enhancements, as required.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as an IT support specialist or in a similar role, including hands-on experience managing Active Directory and configuring VPN solutions.
• Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, networking systems, and Windows Server environments, particularly in AD management and group policy configurations.
• Familiarity with Windows and/or macOS operating systems, with a strong emphasis on networking and security configurations.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, particularly in AD management, VPN setups, and network troubleshooting.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively, especially when managing both user support and system/network configurations.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical users.
• A proactive attitude, willingness to learn new technologies, and adaptability to rapidly changing IT environments.
• Travel to the site office may be required for on-site support and system maintenance.
