RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT EXECUTIVE (RYOYU BAKING)
Job Purpose:
Assist in Bakery Development of myNEWS Ryoyu Baking.
Job Responsibilities:
Conduct product development, including designing products and developing prototypes (weighing, preparation, shaping - including Danish pastry, baking, simple packaging, product prototype inspection, and in-house monitoring).
Attend product development meetings, prepare samples for testing, and record meeting minutes.
Produce product prototypes upon request.
Prepare and manage various materials related to manufacturing.
Conduct testing on dough and develop new formulations to improve product quality.
Examine product prototypes and check expiration dates.
Create test runs, specifications for new products, manufacturing process manuals, product information, and manuals.
Confirm inspection contents, determine expiration dates, and provide product information to JAKIM.
Perform sensory evaluations on released products to confirm quality.
Pioneer new ingredients, request samples, and execute tests.
Conduct stock-taking of ingredients and communicate with purchasers to avoid dead stock.
Survey market trends regularly (at least twice a month) to understand the current situation.
Participate in food exhibitions and study sessions for skill improvement.
Purchase competitor products (e.g., FamilyMart) and create a product catalogue.
Assist in business negotiations with new partners, including design, sampling, and product improvements for launches.
Assist with ad hoc tasks assigned by superiors as needed.
Requirements:
Experience in bread-making processes (weighing, preparation, shaping, and baking).
Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent time management and problem-solving skills.
Strong hygiene management skills, as work will be conducted in a food manufacturing environment.
Must possess a typhoid injection card.
Willingness to work shifts.
Able to handle multiple assignments in a team environment.
Good to have:
3 to 5 years of experience in baking, including Danish pastry.
Fluency in English and Malay.
Any certification related to bread making.
