SCOPE AND GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Regional Head of Human Resources will lead the HR function across Malaysia and Singapore, providing strategic direction, developing HR policies and practices, and managing the day-to-day HR operations. The role will involve close collaboration with senior management to ensure that HR strategies are aligned with business objectives and that the HR function supports the company's growth and performance goals in the region.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Strategic HR Leadership:
- Develop and implement HR strategies that align with the business goals of the organization across Malaysia and Singapore.
- Provide strategic HR advice to senior management and department heads to support business decision-making.
- Lead and manage the regional HR team, fostering a high-performance culture.
2. Talent Acquisition and Management:
- Oversee the recruitment process to attract top talent in the region.
- Implement effective talent management programs, including performance management, succession planning, and leadership development.
- Ensure the development of a robust talent pipeline to meet the future needs of the organization.
3. Employee Relations and Engagement:
- Develop and maintain positive employee relations, ensuring that issues are addressed proactively and effectively.
- Lead initiatives to enhance employee engagement and maintain a strong organizational culture.
- Manage conflict resolution, grievances, and disciplinary actions in accordance with company policies and local labor laws.
4. HR Operations and Compliance:
- Oversee HR operations, including payroll, benefits administration, and HR systems management.
- Ensure compliance with local labor laws and regulations in both Malaysia and Singapore.
- Monitor and report on HR metrics to ensure the effectiveness of HR initiatives.
5. Compensation and Benefits:
- Develop and manage competitive compensation and benefits programs that attract and retain top talent.
- Conduct regular market benchmarking to ensure the organization remains competitive in the region.
- Oversee the annual compensation review process, including salary adjustments and bonus distributions.
7. Change Management:
- Lead HR-related change management initiatives, including organizational restructuring, mergers, and acquisitions.
- Communicate changes effectively to employees and provide support throughout the transition process.
8. Budget Management:
- Manage the HR budget for the region, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
- Report on budget performance and make recommendations for adjustments as needed.
9. Stakeholder Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including senior management, department heads, and external partners.
- Serve as a key point of contact for HR-related matters in the region.
Staff Retention:
- Develop and implement retention strategies to reduce turnover and maintain a stable workforce.
- Analyze turnover data to identify trends and implement corrective actions.
- Foster a positive work environment that encourages employee loyalty and satisfaction.
JOB QUALIFICATION:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of HR experience, with at least 5 years in a regional or senior HR leadership role.
- Strong understanding of labor laws and regulations in Malaysia and Singapore.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing HR strategies that align with business objectives.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in change management and organizational development.
- Proficiency in HR software and systems.
- Demonstrated success in staff retention and engagement initiatives.
