Job description

This is a hands-on technical accounting role focused on finalizing group financial reports across APAC countries. Key objectives for the finance team include ensuring compliance with company policies, adhering to regional regulatory requirements, and achieving timely, accurate reporting. Additionally, the role prioritizes cost control, vendor management, and spending reviews across the group.

Leadership and Team Management:

Oversee finance teams at each location, ensuring effective management of payables, receivables, collections, budgeting, and tax matters.

Budgeting and Financial Planning:

Establish the annual budgeting system and lead the annual budget preparation process.

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

Prepare and review financial reports, monitor performance, and evaluate group management results.

Compliance and Taxation:

Ensure accurate and timely preparation of statutory financial statements, corporate tax, VAT, and other regulatory reporting, including P&L and balance sheet reviews.

Credit and Collections:

Monitor and manage credit control, debtors, and collection activities.

Vendor and Payment Management:

Oversee vendor payment reviews and approvals for each location.

Cash Flow and Bank Management:

Handle cash flow management, including bank reconciliations and cash planning.

Stakeholder Relations:

Maintain relationships with external financial entities, including auditors, banks, and tax authorities.

Internal Audit and Process Improvement:

Plan, manage, and execute internal audits, review systems and processes to enhance reporting accuracy and operational efficiency.

Project Financial Analysis:

Conduct feasibility analyses for new centers/locations, pre- and post-opening.

Lease and Legal Administration:

Oversee lease-related administration and manage legal cases as needed.

Payroll and Compensation:

Conduct monthly payroll reviews for the group, and manage payroll processing for the Malaysian team.

Team Development:

Ensure finance teams are adequately staffed and skilled, overseeing recruitment, retention, and training initiatives.

Requirements:

  1. Possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree or Professional qualification in Finance/Accounting.
  2. At least 20 years of working experience with minimum 10 years in a managerial position.
  3. Ability to manage direct reports and capable of imposing corporate financial discipline.
  4. Strong understanding of financial processes and accounting systems.
  5. Skilled in setting up and managing a chart of accounts.
  6. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and various accounting software applications.
  7. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  8. Capable of delegating, monitoring, and managing team members effectively.
  9. Ability to enforce and maintain financial discipline across operations.
  10. Highly precise in operational tasks and execution.
  11. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  12. Demonstrated leadership abilities with a proactive approach.
  13. Excellent interpersonal skills, fostering collaboration and teamwork.
  14. Resilient and adaptable under pressure, with a strong focus on results.
