Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Quantity Surveyor (QS) to join our in-house team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing costs and ensuring the smooth coordination between design, procurement, and site execution. You will play a vital role in maintaining project budgets, negotiating with suppliers/subcontractors, and resolving on-site challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drawing Analysis:
- Interpret and analyze designer drawings to identify project requirements.
- Ensure accurate costing and scope understanding from the design stage. - Quotation & Cost Management:
- Prepare detailed and competitive quotations for projects.
- Perform cost estimation, budget planning, and financial forecasting. - Supplier/Subcontractor Coordination:
- Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best price, scope, and timeline.
- Confirm contracts, agreements, and delivery schedules.
- Pass finalized project details and costs to the site team for execution.
- Collaborate with the site supervisor to verify completed work for payment purposes.
- Work closely with accounts to ensure timely and accurate payments to subcontractors and suppliers based on verified progress.
- Resolve scope overlaps or discrepancies between stakeholders.
- Implement cost engineering techniques to optimize project costs while maintaining quality. - Ad Hoc Duties:
- Provide support in tender documentation, claims assessment, and contract administration as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
- - Diploma/Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- - Proven experience in the interior design or construction industry (fresh graduates are welcome to apply).
- - Strong knowledge of design drawings, material specifications, and cost analysis.
- - Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- - Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- - Proficient in relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, QS tools).
- - Team player with a proactive attitude and problem-solving mindset.
- - Proficiency in Mandarin, English, and Malay.
