Quantity Surveyor – Mechanical & Engineering (Water Reticulation, HVAC & Fire-Fighting Systems)

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and Chinese-speaking Quantity Surveyor specializing in Mechanical & Engineering (M&E) works with expertise in water reticulation, HVAC, fire-fighting systems, ELV or other related M&E works.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender documents for M&E works.
  2. Conduct cost analysis and risk assessments for HVAC, fire-fighting, and water reticulation systems.
  3. Evaluate material specifications and optimize cost-effective solutions for M&E installations.
  4. Contract Administration & Procurement
  5. Review contracts, BOQs, and scope of work for M&E projects.
  6. Conduct value engineering assessments to ensure compliance with project budgets.
  7. Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and vendors for pricing negotiations and procurement.
  8. Ensure adherence to local regulations and industry standards for fire protection, HVAC, and plumbing systems.
  9. Monitor progress claims, variations, and change orders related to M&E services.
  10. Assist in cash flow forecasting and financial reporting for M&E contracts.
  11. Conduct site visits and inspections to verify work compliance with contract specifications.
  12. Ensure accurate documentation for final account closure and project handover.

Requirements:

  1. Must be proficient in spoken and written Chinese to communicate with stakeholders and project teams effectively.
  2. Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
  3. Minimum 5 years of experience in M&E quantity surveying, specializing in ELV, HVAC, fire-fighting, and water reticulation.
  4. Strong understanding of contract administration (FIDIC, PAM, JKR, etc.) in construction projects.
  5. Proficiency in cost control, tender evaluation, and procurement strategies.
  6. Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
  7. Ability to work collaboratively with engineers, consultants, and project managers.
