Duties and Responsibilities
1. Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and other related expenses.
2. Conduct project cost analysis and variance assessments, closely monitoring and identifying potential cost overruns or savings.
3. Collaborate with project stakeholders to develop comprehensive and competitive tender submissions.
4. Evaluate and compare supplier and subcontractor bids, negotiate contracts, and ensure value for money.
5. Verify and perform accurate quantity takeoff and measurement from construction drawings and ensure alignment with project requirements.
6. Prepare bills of quantities (BOQ) and schedules of rates for material procurement and subcontractor tendering.
7. Assist in the preparation and review of construction contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and contractual requirements.
8. Collaborate with project teams to resolve contractual disputes and claims in a timely and equitable manner.
Qualifications & Skills
1. Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
2. Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the property development and construction industry.
3. Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, materials, and building codes/regulations.
4. Proficiency in quantity takeoff and measurement techniques.
5. Excellent understanding of cost estimation, budgeting, and cost control principles.
6. Familiarity with value engineering concepts and techniques.
7. Sound knowledge of contract administration and relevant construction contracts.
8. Proficient in using quantity surveying software and MS Office applications.
9. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
10. Attention to detail and ability to work with numerical data accurately.
11. Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
12. Ability to work effectively in a team and meet project deadlines.
13. Adaptability to work in both office and construction site environments.
