Quality Lead - Johor Bahru, Malaysia - Crowe Malaysia PLT

Lead Quality to excellence in food manufacturing by maintaining quality control systems, ensuring food safety, and driving continuous improvement.

• Develop and improve the Quality Control Management System (QCMS) to manage product quality and conformance.
• Implement JDE and legal/certification requirements for food safety, and verify compliance and effectiveness.
• Provide expertise and support on quality, product safety, and technical issues.
• Lead quality initiatives and corrective actions against KPIs, consumer complaints, and product conformance.
• Implement Statistical Process Control to improve compliance to specifications.
• Embed problem-solving and quality tools, including root cause analysis and Kaizen.
• Liaise with vendors to reduce non-conformities and impact manufacturing efficiency.
• Check compliance to standards with regular audits.
• Lead continuous improvement on GMP, sanitation, and zoning.
• Support vendor management and internal audits as a qualified auditor.
• Manage the incoming quality and laboratory management process.
• Assist in grooming and capability building of the quality team.
• Represent quality in project execution from design to commercialization.
• Reinforce supplier quality performance and prioritize quality and food safety.
• Oversee quality loss analysis through end-to-end supply chain.
• Lead automation and digitalization of quality plans aligned with global quality systems.
• Support manufacturing operating system activities to deliver food safety and quality culture engagement.

Requirements:

• Degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Chemistry, Engineering, or relevant vocational experience.
• Local language: fluent; English: intermediate.
• 8-12 years' experience in quality engineering/food safety role in FMCG, food, or process industry.
• Knowledge of quality and food safety standards (ISO/FSSC 22000, IFS, HACCP, GMP).
• Background in coffee and tea manufacturing is an advantage.
• People management experience and organizational/project management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high accuracy and decision quality.
• Proven stakeholder management skills and ability to communicate at senior levels.
• Key knowledge of national and/or EU food safety regulations.
• Extended knowledge in statistical applications and digitization/automation of quality control tests.
• Lean manufacturing/Lean Six Sigma experience is an advantage.
• Team player with effective communication and project management skills.
