We are now looking for a Quality Engineer at UPM Raflatac. This position will be located in Johor Bahru, Malaysia.

What you will do

1. Perform all duties in full compliance with all laws, safety and environmental regulations, and in a manner consistent with company policies and procedures. Understand the problems customers and end users are experiencing with product quality, and work with the production team (or other relevant teams) to carry out corrective/preventive actions.
2. Work with internal teams to increase customer satisfaction by improving the quality and driving Proactive Quality Analysis (PQA) to analyze trends of quality and reduce quality and process variation to achieve KPIs. Collaborate with the Global Lab network team to ensure all measurement SOPs are fulfilled according to global standardization and ensure measurement device maintenance.
3. Oversee and lead any customer meetings and internal meetings (Factory and Terminals) related to quality performance review and quality improvement plan programs.
4. Work closely with Product Development and Operations team in specification review and setup, and quality control for new trial and product transfer projects. Review all product quality plans in Raflatrack and revise as needed according to change control and customer feedback as part of quality control.
5. Review and establish quality control for any new or existing raw materials related to new trials and customer feedback, and work with Raw Material Claim person-in-charge for any improvement and specification establishment. Support product quality projects together with operations & continuous improvement team.
6. Compile and analyze factory-level monthly Total Quality performance and related information for management reporting and improvement action plan. Responsible for leadership, coaching, and development of staff in QA and TCS roles.
7. Demonstrate the ability to lead teams and projects effectively, promoting harmonious and efficient working relationships internally and externally.
8. Support and ensure ISO compliance and requirements as well as to support customer audit activities. Drive quality improvement projects and create awareness at the factory level by conducting quality sharing and training.
9. Support Market’s claim handling and coordination with QE from other sites and customer visits if needed. Assist in overseeing calibration programs and ensure ISO compliance.

Who you are

1. You have a diploma/degree in an Engineering-related discipline.
2. You have a minimum of 1–3 years of working experience in the Quality department in a similar role, with a preference for 3–5 years.
3. You possess good communication skills with customers, suppliers, and regional affiliates.
4. You have a high level of interpersonal skills and are able to lead internally.
5. You excel in teamwork and possess leadership qualities.
6. You have analytical and good problem-solving skills.
7. You are able to travel as business requires.
8. You are proficient in both English and Bahasa Malaysia.
