Quality Assurance Manager

With the endorsement of Malaysia's Ministry of Higher Education, Manipal International University was rebranded as MILA University in 2023. As part of its goal to establish a leading institution for academic excellence in Asia, MILA University is now inviting applications for the role of Quality Assurance Manager.

Responsibilities:

A) Quality Assurance (QA)

1) Manage the development, implementation and monitoring of QA policies and procedures.

2) Ensure we meet the QA requirements of key stakeholders, for example, but not limited:

• External stakeholders such as MQA, ISO, QS, MyRA and SETARA.
• Internal stakeholders such as the Research Management Committee, Schools, Registry and Finance.

3) Oversee QA processes to ensure that data collection is performed in a timely manner, stored in central repositories and that the data can be reused across the various functions that it supports.

4) Work closely with the schools, to ensure that we are aligned with academic standards and learning outcomes, taking into account that we deliver our courses in a variety of ways (e.g. face-to-face and Online and Distance Learning).

5) Manage the evaluation of our teaching quality and its continual improvement.

6) Report to senior colleagues, as well as the wider MILA community.

7) Stay up to date with QA standards, regulations, and best practices, particularly in higher education, adjusting our processes as necessary.

8) Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders.

9) Represent the university in meetings, conferences, and other professional forums.

10) Foster a culture of continuous improvement and data-informed decision making.

11) Coordinate and facilitate QA visits.

12) Provide training and professional development opportunities for colleagues on QA.

13) Serve on committees and task forces related to QA, as required.

B) Managerial

1) Manage staff (directly or indirectly) that fall under your portfolio, including carrying out performance review, day-to-management and objective setting.

2) Plan and manage your department’s budget.

C) Professional Development

1) Be open to, seek out and pursue professional development opportunities.

D) Other Duties

1) Support the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research and Enterprise) in areas related to his/her portfolio, as/when necessary.

2) Support the wider University as/when required to assist in achieving its vision and objectives.

Requirements:

• Candidate must possess at least a bachelor’s degree in any field of studies.
• At least 5 years of work experience in a higher learning institution dealing directly with quality and compliance.
• Must have experience in managing a small team of 2 to 3 individuals.
• Familiar with MQA, ISO, MQA, ISO, QS, MyRA and SETARA.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Able to manage multiple tasks within timelines.
• Willing to learn, adaptive and able to work independently across cultures.
• Effective communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
