Job Summary
As a QA Tester, you will be responsible for testing software applications to ensure they meet quality standards. You will collaborate with developers and product managers to identify bugs, track defects, and ensure the final product is reliable, efficient, and user-friendly.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Test Planning: Develop test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on software requirements and design documentation.
- Manual Testing: Perform manual testing across various platforms (desktop, web, mobile) to identify bugs and issues.
- Automation Testing: (If applicable) Create and maintain automated tests using testing frameworks and tools like Selenium, TestNG, or JUnit.
- Bug Identification & Reporting: Identify, document, and track software defects, and work closely with the development team to resolve issues.
- Regression Testing: Conduct regression testing to ensure new features or fixes don't negatively affect existing functionality.
- Performance Testing: Evaluate software performance and stability under varying load conditions.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure test coverage.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of testing procedures, results, and issues found during the testing process.
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT): Assist with UAT to ensure the software meets the end-user's needs.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
- Previous experience in software testing or quality assurance.
- Proven experience in manual and/or automation testing.
- Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.).
- Familiarity with bug tracking tools (JIRA, etc.).
- Experience with testing tools (Selenium, QTP, LoadRunner, etc.) for automation testing (if required).
- Ability to read and understand code (basic programming knowledge may be required in some cases).
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
