Summary:
Being part of BASF’s Data & AI Powerhouse, the Data Excellence team drives BASF’s overall Data Management and contributes to the convenient, efficient, and compliant data usage within BASF. You will contribute to the development of the Data Product Builder, a tool that enables business colleagues to create Data Products from various data sources in an easy and user-friendly way.

Responsibilities and Key Activities:

  • Support the design of the Data Product Builder architecture and drive its development using your Python coding skills.
  • Set up the necessary infrastructure in a stable and secure way and develop CI/CD pipelines and test frameworks.
  • Responsible for both the design and end-to-end implementation of individual microservices and RESTful APIs as well as ensuring their smooth operation.
  • Take care of code quality by defining coding conventions and development guidelines, ensuring high test coverage.
  • Use your experience to support a continuous exchange of knowledge and ensure effective cooperation with our customers.

Education:

  • Bachelor/Diploma in informatics or software engineering, or comparable technical education in the field of computer science.

Technical & Professional Knowledge (mandatory):

  • Minimum of 3+ years of working experience in backend software development with Python.
  • Hands-on experience in design, development and consumption of web services-RESTful APIs including advanced authentication concepts (e.g., OAuth).
  • Ideally experience in implementing and operating containerized microservices in cloud environments (Azure stack preferred).
  • High interest in technical innovations and the continuous optimization of existing systems.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively translate sophisticated concepts into easily understandable language (English).
  • Agile mindset, proactive action, good self-organization, and teamwork in an agile and remote environment, complemented by a strong customer orientation.
  • Experience with Java would be beneficial.
