Job Description
Position Objective:
Project manager external procurement for new products (platform etc.), participates in SE team, coordinates SE work at the supplier. Supervision of series production until EOP, coordinating / driving function on purchasing side for RPP. Input of BU-localization strategy to purchasing strategy. Project Management Purchasing is responsible for achievement of project goals (costs, quality, deadlines, budget). Responsible for assigned commodity.
Responsibilities:
Acts as project manager external procurement all new projects incl. 2nd sources
Manages medium to very high complexity projects
Guides the specialist departments as part of project management
Represents purchasing in product creation process from kick-off onwards
Participates in Simultaneous Engineering teams, coordinates SE work at the supplier
Initiates and implements concept competitions
Holds and participates in technical supplier discussions
Participates & answers questions in Quality Gate Customer for purchase appraisals
Supervises series production until EOP
Feedbacks series experience / lessons learned into SE process
Coordinates change management on the purchasing side
Coordinates & drives RPP function on the purchasing side, participates in RPP teams
Provides input of Business Unit (BU) localization strategy to purchasing strategy
Escalates critical topics on own responsibility and works out solutions before escalation to supervisor
Supports start-up activities to secure safe launch
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics/Supply Chain or equivalent field with 5 -10 years experience
Specialist in Project Management (new product launches, RPP projects, supplier projects)
Specialist in Products and systems know-how
Specialist in Quality basics and standards, Environmental standards, Quality planning, release process, engineering change management and special releases; production and testing of supplied parts
Competent in Production planning of supplied parts & understanding of BPS system approach (from Purchasing perspective)
Competent in Purchasing basics (Supply Chain Manual, Purchasing Methods, technical and commercial and TTM evaluation)
