About the role

We are seeking a driven Purchasing Officer/Executive to join our team in Muar District, Johor. As a Purchasing Officer/Executive, you will play a vital role in managing and optimising our procurement processes to support the smooth operations of our manufacturing business. This is a full-time position with opportunities for growth and development within our organisation.

What you'll be doing

1. Manage the end-to-end procurement process, from identifying supplier needs to negotiating contracts and placing orders
2. Research and evaluate potential suppliers, ensuring we obtain the best quality materials and services at competitive prices
3. Collaborate with production, inventory and finance teams to maintain optimal stock levels and minimise disruptions
4. Negotiate with suppliers to secure favourable terms and pricing, while maintaining strong relationships
5. Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies, procedures and relevant regulations
6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement records and reporting
7. Identify opportunities to streamline processes and implement continuous improvements

What we're looking for

1. Minimum 2-3 years of purchasing or procurement experience, preferably within the manufacturing, transport or logistics industries
2. Strong negotiation and supplier management skills with the ability to build effective relationships
3. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to optimise procurement and inventory levels
4. Proficient in using procurement software, ERP systems and MS Office applications
5. Degree or diploma in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management or a related field
6. Effective communication skills in both English and Bahasa Malaysia
7. A detail-oriented, organised approach with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines
