Assist the Purchasing Manager to plan, execute, direct and coordinate the purchasing activities involved in purchasing construction materials, parts & equipment, products or services according to project plan.
Continuously strive for improvement in lead times, minimum order size, reduction of purchase costs and improvement in product quality from suppliers.
Responsible in negotiating for the best purchasing package (in terms of quality, price, term, delivery and service) with suppliers and subcontractors assigned.
Maintain complete updated purchasing records/data and pricing in the SAP system.
Support in develop and implement procurement procedures & policies.
Build and develop relationships with key suppliers and customers.
Support relevant departments with quotations for the purpose of tenders.
Monitoring and execution of all regular purchasing duties.
Maintain procurement files and records timely.
Requirements:
Minimum of 10 years of direct purchasing experience in construction materials within a main contractor environment is required.
Possessing knowledge in quantity surveying is an added advantage.
Strong negotiation and communication skills are essential.
Proactive, dynamic, and meticulous with excellent analytical abilities.
Capable of working effectively under pressure and delivering results.
