About the Role

Qnnect (M) Sdn Bhd, a leading manufacturing company in cable assemblies and connectors, is seeking a highly motivated Purchasing Executive to join our team in Simpang Ampat, Penang. As a Purchasing Executive, you will play a crucial role in managing the procurement process and ensuring the timely delivery of materials and supplies to support our operations. This full-time position offers an opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced, challenging environment.

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for purchasing direct materials for production builds and managing day-to-day supplier relationships.
• Responsible for localization of direct materials as required.
• Conduct periodic negotiations with suppliers to secure better pricing and optimize the total cost of ownership.
• Ensure suppliers meet on-time delivery (OTD) performance targets.
• Monitoring inventory levels and initiating purchase orders to maintain optimal stock levels.
• Oversee raw material inventory and ensure that inventory turnover aligns with company objectives.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand and meet the company's procurement needs.
• Collaborate with the Quality department to conduct supplier audits as required.
• Work with the Quality department to manage the return of goods to vendors due to quality issues.
• Maintaining detailed records and reports on purchasing activities and for data analysis.
• Assist in sourcing and purchasing of indirect materials when needed.
• Assist in freight forwarding arrangement; custom clearance for incoming & outgoing shipments when needed.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by superior from time to time.

Job Requirements:

• A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills to effectively liaise with suppliers.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to optimize procurement processes.
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office and data analysis tools.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Familiar with ERP system.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and work on odd hours when necessary.
• Proficient in both spoken and written English.
• Able to work independently and with minimal supervision.
