Purchasing Assistant Manager

Our client is looking for a hands-on and data-driven Purchasing Assistant Manager to lead and optimize procurement activities in a fast-moving, international manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for material planning, supplier management, and process improvement while leading a team of buyers.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys solving supply challenges, improving procurement processes, and leading teams in a dynamic environment.

Who We’re Looking For

• Hands-on leader, not just a manager—actively involved in procurement while developing the team.
• Strong problem-solver who can challenge the status quo and implement improvements.
• Proactive, independent, and adaptable in a fast-moving and sometimes messy environment.
• Effective communicator with strong stakeholder and supplier management skills.
• 5+ years of procurement experience, ideally 10+ years, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Manufacturing procurement experience is essential. Experience with RFID, access cards, wires, or chips is a plus.
• Strong understanding of demand forecasting and procurement planning beyond just system-generated data.
• Excellent negotiation, supplier engagement, and process improvement skills.
• Experience using Oracle, SAP, or other ERP systems.
• Data-driven mindset—ability to analyze procurement data and make informed decisions.
• Chinese-speaking is preferred but not mandatory (due to supplier interactions).
