Job description

Project logistics is a specialized subset of the logistics industry that requires a fully integrated approach to the global orchestration of material flow, order management, and shipment execution from multiple origins to a defined site location. This includes transportation of regular, out of gauge cargo (OOG) and other sensitive cargo across various transport modes (Ocean, Air, and Land) with the objective to deliver in full, complete, on time, and in the right sequence per the customer’s project plan and schedule.

Key Responsibilities, the Project Manager will

  • Be the primary point of contact for own customers and ensure smooth execution of the end-to-end shipment lifecycle, including the inland delivery, by working closely with the customer and internal stakeholders.
  • Be fully responsible for customer satisfaction across MPL product offering (own customers).
  • Manage people and processes to execute designed project solutions.
  • Responsible for operational excellence across MPL product family and transport modes to meet customer deliverables.
  • Partner with commercial, growth enablement, QHSE, and procurement to aid in the strategic development of the customer.
  • Establish and track goals, metrics, and indicators for success for the MPL project.
  • Demonstrate adaptability for market fluctuations, supply chain disruptions, and customer timelines to meet contractual terms.
  • Establish and foster data-driven relationships with clients focusing on joint strategic vision and initiatives aligned to global MPL growth strategies.
  • Accountable for the internal implementation of the customer solution, ensuring reporting structure, QHSE requirements, and continuous improvement loops embedded in the organization.
  • Effective independent judgment in order to set priorities and work independently.
  • Drive operational excellence across teams.
  • Identify and hold operational leadership accountable to customer program deliverables.
  • Identify value-added solutions for the customer and Maersk.
  • Represent the account(s) during business implementation and execution, including onboarding of new Maersk product portfolio; collaborating with internal project owners accordingly.

We are looking for

  • Project freight forwarding background with 5 – 7 years’ experience.
  • Experienced with sales support, tender management, and operation.
  • Extensive executional experience across all transport modes; ocean/air/truck/barge to include OOG cargo from A - Z.
  • Good knowledge of local and international freight forwarding operation flow including customs clearance requirements.
  • Customer facing engagements and presentations.
  • Strong ability to facilitate cross-functional decision-making across regions, product(s), and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Willingness to attend site visits such as customer/vendor visits, field operation, etc. (If required).
  • Willingness to work out of office hours (If required).
  • Able to make decisions independently and be a good team contributor.
  • Ensure the procurement and evaluation of offers from sub-contractors are in line with MPL standards.
