The New Roles :
PMO Leadership:
- Lead the setup and management of the PMO, including defining project governance processes.
- Ensure alignment of project management standards and procedures with organizational goals.
- Develop project management strategies and methodologies that promote efficiency and collaboration.
Project Oversight and Governance:
- Oversee the performance of all active projects to ensure adherence to scope, timeline, and budget.
- Implement project tracking mechanisms (such as dashboards and performance metrics) to monitor project progress and resolve issues proactively.
- Establish and maintain a standardized approach to project management, including tools, templates, and guidelines.
Resource Management:
- Ensure optimal allocation of resources across multiple projects, considering capacity and skillsets.
- Work closely with project managers and stakeholders to identify resource needs, risks, and dependencies.
Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks across projects and create mitigation strategies.
- Ensure that all projects have robust risk management and issue resolution processes in place.
Stakeholder Communication:
- Serve as a central point of communication for all project-related matters.
- Provide regular updates to senior leadership on project portfolio performance, risk, and resource status.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and resolve conflicts or escalations.
Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and coach a team of project managers to ensure they deliver successful projects.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture within the PMO.
Continuous Improvement:
- Continuously refine project management processes based on lessons learned and industry best practices.
- Identify and implement tools and technologies that enhance project delivery and reporting.
Qualifications to succeed :
- Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration, or related field
- 7+ years of experience in project management, including 3+ years in a leadership role overseeing a PMO or multiple projects.
- Experience with project management SAP Activate methodologies.
- Proven experience managing large-scale, cross-functional projects.
- Able to plan and execute project plans independently and efficiently, managing timelines, user expectations, and producing high-quality deliverables.
- Able to deliver projects meeting both financial and operational targets and contractual requirements.
