Do you excel at managing complex projects across borders while ensuring high standards in execution, timelines, and budgets? If so, we invite you to join Palsgaard as our Project Director, spearheading our significant expansion project in Southeast Asia.

At Palsgaard, we have an ambitious growth strategy and in the coming years we will double our production capacity at our site in Malaysia. As Project Director, you will oversee the execution of a major expansion project (100 million EUR), ensuring compliance with specifications, budgets, and timelines. Reporting directly to Palsgaard’s Executive Management Team, you will work closely with an Advisory Committee led by the COO. You will manage the project team, maintain stakeholder alignment, and ensure seamless communication and progress tracking.

It is essential for this position that you have experience and knowledge of process, chemical, or food industries and a solid understanding of the workflows and operations within a process-driven company.

The position involves a dynamic mix of work locations and travel. During the initial conceptual design phase, the role will be based in Denmark, collaborating closely with the Malaysian organization, with frequent travel required (30-60 travel days). As the project transitions into the detailed engineering, execution, and handover phases, the role will primarily be located in Malaysia, and it is expected that the candidate will relocate to Malaysia for project execution and handover.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to draft detailed project plans and ensure alignment across functions.
  • Lead project organization and manage the project team to deliver on key milestones.
  • Prepare purchase recommendations, maintain records, and initiate corrective actions for deviations.
  • Regularly update the Advisory and Steering Committees on progress, budgets, and planning.
  • Represent the project team and facilitate decision-making at every stage.

Candidate Profile

We are seeking a highly qualified candidate with a bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field, with a PMP certification as a preferred asset. The ideal candidate brings +15 years of project management experience in industries such as emulsifier production, breweries, dairies, pharmaceuticals, or oil refineries. Demonstrated success in managing large-scale greenfield or brownfield projects in Southeast Asia for a Northern European-based company is essential.

The role requires a decisive and proactive leader who excels in driving strategic initiatives and solving complex challenges. Success in this position demands expertise in guiding cross-functional teams, building strong stakeholder relationships, and making high-level project decisions. Exceptional organizational and negotiation skills, combined with a comprehensive understanding of supplier management and regulatory approval processes, are essential. Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is a prerequisite.

As our Project Director, we expect you to embody our core values—Loyalty, Responsibility, and Commitment—not only in your words but also through your actions.
