Progressive Tooling and Process Specialist

Job Overview
Good Tool Engineering experience in a state of art manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include:

1. Tandem, progressive, blanking, and transfer stamping.
2. Approve stamping die designs and manage supplier performance to build schedule.
3. Working knowledge of current manufacturing techniques – tooling, metal stamping, assembly, and testing.
4. Project coordination, championing and supporting our Engineering / Manufacturing Group’s specific needs regarding DFM, Cost, Quality & Schedule.
5. Familiarity with GD&T concepts.
6. Ownership of the technical management of products, addressing technical questions and ensuring completion of action items.
7. Quotation of sample costs, fixture costs, tooling costs, test costs, etc., during NPI engineering builds.
8. Track cost approval, PO, invoice to payment, including initial budget, ECO, and cost modifications.
9. Extensive aluminum Class A, BIW, and Closures experience focusing on the design and build of stamping dies.
10. Facilitate PCR process interaction between Supplier and Engineering teams.
11. Manage internal customers, assessing needs regarding priorities, deadlines, and quantities, driving suppliers for on-time deliverables.
12. Track and manage Press Line Trials for new dies and Engineering Changes.
13. Provide feedback on die issues to design standards.
14. Develop die modification strategy and schedule for design change implementation.
15. Plan and manage outsource stampings.
16. Cost control (after die arrival, cost plan vs. actual).
17. Schedule and monitor all NPI activities, from design kick-off, tooling, and engineering builds through mass production.
18. Maintain documentation of internal or external communication, processing data, and other pertinent product information.
19. Working knowledge of production and quality control procedures used in a manufacturing environment.
20. Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
21. Strong mechanical, time management, and analysis skills.
22. Knowledge of material properties, mechanics of materials, and how these materials react under varying stamping conditions.
23. Ability to remain current with state-of-the-art technologies and practices related to the metal stamping process and develop innovative solutions when necessary.
24. Able to use MS Office (Excel, Project, Word).
25. Proficiency in CAD software (CATIA and Autoform).
