Production Manager
Job description
What You Will Do
- Oversee production and material planning, ensuring the availability of materials as per the production schedule.
- Supervise the purchasing of production materials to support the business unit (BU) in achieving its development targets.
- Manage inventory for all material types, including raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods.
- Optimize capacity usage to maximize production line efficiency.
- Lead and manage a team consisting of Storekeepers, Planners, and Purchasers.
- Coordinate the supply chain process, including planning, scheduling, purchasing, storage, and inventory control.
- Develop and manage production schedules to meet customer orders and ensure on-time delivery.
- Collaborate with the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) team to ensure alignment with customer demand.
- Oversee store operations, including receiving, issuing, inventory integrity, and record keeping.
- Evaluate supplier performance and foster strong, collaborative relationships to secure delivery commitments and cost advantages.
- Develop and monitor inventory control metrics and indices.
- Conduct regular physical inventories and audits.
- Establish, customize, and streamline material flow processes.
- Set clear, measurable goals to assess individual and team performance, driving continuous improvement in key operational metrics.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process optimization.
- Promote a positive, transparent, and team-oriented environment to encourage staff collaboration.
What You Should Have
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, or a Diploma with at least 5 years of relevant work experience.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in New Product Introduction (NPI) or a related field within the manufacturing industry.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Independent, self-driven, and analytical, with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Proficient in SAP or other relevant MRP systems.
- A team player, eager to work in cross-functional teams with a strong engineering focus.
