Production Manager
Job description
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the production floor day-to-day operation, including production schedule, job allocation, workforce, and cost control.
- Ensures finished output meets quality standards within the allocated timeline and budget.
- Ensures daily production output meets set targets and prepares production reports on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Required to understand the production schedule and meet inspection dates as stated.
- Ensures all required materials are released across production as per SOP.
- Records and communicates all downtime.
- Manages space on the production floor to prevent congestion due to finished goods and WIPs, highlighting issues to related departments for action.
- Ensures NCR is filled properly for production issues to QC department.
- Troubleshoots to solve production delays, downtimes, and related issues.
- Aims to improve production operations' efficiency through reviewing process flow, production schedules, and engineering specifications.
- Ensures machines are maximized to full capacity.
- Raises downtime reports if there are any maintenance issues.
- Ensures operators work with machines according to the published manuals.
- Monitors material wastage and collaborates with the production team to minimize it.
- Maintains proper documentation for rejected products that need disposal.
- Works closely with QC to achieve quality as per business standards.
- Reports on quality for all production processes from QC.
- Acts as the liaison between the Production team and Management.
- Ensures proper training is provided to employees from the date of employment by the department Supervisor/Leader/Assistant Leader.
- Follows up with newly hired employees on the production floor to address any work-related issues or concerns with their immediate supervisors.
