Production Manager

Our client located in Senai, Johor, Malaysia, is part of a global company that has been developing, manufacturing, and supplying plastic products since 1944. With 1,800 employees and production sites across Sweden, Germany, the UK, Poland, Turkey, Malaysia, and China, they provide plastic injection moulding services and contract manufacturing solutions for markets including business machines, professional appliances, industrial products, home automation, and medical solutions. They have been a wholly owned subsidiary of Nordstjernan since 2010.

Job Purpose:

This position exists primarily to oversee all pre-production and production in moulding shop, assembly line and painting shop to ensure all goods are produced efficiently, that they are of the right quality, quantity and cost, and they are produced on time, to the satisfaction of the customer, at the right price.

This position is also to lead and develop a high engagement team via living the core values of the company.

HSE Criteria:

Reporting Structure:

• Reports to: Managing Director
• Reports from: Maintenance Engineer, Maintenance Technician, Senior Moulding Technician, Moulding Technician, Shift Supervisor, Production Clerk

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Production management: Ensure production targets are met in terms of quality, delivery and cost of moulding shop and assembly shop. Communicate with internal function teams for production issues to achieve customer requirements. Balance Moulding shop and Assembly resources (people, capacity, etc.).
• Quality Control: Monitor key indicators of product and process quality to meet customer requirements.
• Efficiency Control & Continuous Improvement: Continuously improve labour efficiency, reduce waste and scrap. Plan and coordinate continuous improvement initiatives as required to enhance production effectiveness and efficiency. Ensure timely work order closure and maintain system accuracy (Assembly/Moulding).
• People Development: Build a strong team in the manufacturing department to ensure department performance and sustain continuous development.
• HSE: Directly responsible for overall safety in the area of responsibility. Lead HSE risk assessments and implement actions to continually improve HSE performance. Report and analyze all accidents and near misses and implement appropriate corrective and preventive actions as required. Drive the team to ensure operational compliance with all HSE procedures and promote a safety culture within the team.

Salary Range:

RM12,000-RM16,000

Petrol RM500, Mobile RM200, Meal RM4/per working day
