Product Translator Engineer

Job Responsibilities:

• Translate technical documents, including product descriptions, user manuals, and marketing materials from Chinese to English.
• Collaborate with product development teams to ensure accurate and culturally sensitive translation of product features and functionalities.
• Conduct research and analysis to ensure the accuracy and relevance of translations.
• Develop and maintain glossaries and terminology databases to ensure consistency in translation.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, and product development to ensure alignment and quality of translations.
• Review and edit translations to ensure high-quality output.
• Provide linguistic expertise to help develop product localization strategies.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments in both English and Chinese languages.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering field or a related field (e.g. mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science).
• 2+ years of experience as a translator or in a related field (e.g. technical writing, localization).
• Excellent translation skills, with a focus on technical documentation.
• Proficient in both English and Chinese languages.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in translation software and tools (e.g. CAT tools, project management software).

Nice to Have:

• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Axure, with additional skills in other design software.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Familiarity with product development processes and Agile methodologies.
• Knowledge of common industry standards and regulations (e.g. ISO, CE).
• Certification in translation or interpretation (e.g. Certified Translator, Certified Interpreter).
