Job description

Executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group Malaysia's Process Analytics Division is recruiting on behalf of a MNC leader in the precision instruments industry. Our client is seeking a sales engineer with strong technical expertise and customer focus skills involved in managing existing accounts, acquiring new customers, and providing technical support. A deep understanding of the product line is required to effectively address customer needs and provide solutions.

Job Description:
Sales and Marketing

  • Managing existing accounts and consistently updating sales pipelines
  • Qualifying database and updating CRM
  • Establishing new accounts by identifying potential customers; planning and organizing sales call schedules
  • Identifying current and potential customer requirements by establishing personal rapport and understanding key requirements
  • Support Sales Manager in execution of marketing campaigns, leads generation and management
  • Provide and present product & technical information to potential and existing customers

Technical Advisory and Product Advocate

  • Responsible for actively driving and managing project pipelines
  • Provide technology evaluation stage of the sales process, working in conjunction with the technical support team. Becoming a competent key technical advisor and product advocate for the company's products
  • Communicate regulatory compliance requirements and applications effectively, demonstrating the company's market leadership and expertise in the relevant fields
  • Interact with customers' engineering teams to illustrate the company's valued propositions
  • Responsible for representing the products to customers and at field events such as conferences, seminars, etc.
  • Develop customer's staff by providing technical information and training
  • Conduct negotiations to secure a win-win agreement with customers

Service Standards and Customer Relationship Management

  • Determine improvements by analysing cost-benefit ratios of equipment, supplies, or service applications in the customer environment; engineering or proposing changes in equipment, processes, or use of equipment or services
  • Prepare cost estimates by studying blueprints, plans, and related customer documents
  • Gain customer acceptance by explaining or demonstrating cost reductions and operational improvements
  • Maintaining records of customer communication and sales activity in our CRM system

Key job requirements include:

  • Firsthand understanding of technical equipment, process control system and marketing process
  • Sound understanding of manufacturing workflows and architecture

Mandatory

  • Degree/Diploma in any engineering discipline preferably in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering, or relevant field
  • Knowledge on Control Instrumentation System (sensors, transmitters)
  • Knowledge on Data communication protocol (fieldbus, TCP/IP, Analog & Digital output signals)
  • Minimum 2 years working experience in a Technical sales Environment
  • Self-starter with a proactive approach
  • Understanding of sales & distribution with intermediate project management skills
  • Willing to travel (within Malaysia)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and influencing ability
  • Valid driving license
