Brief Description / Purpose of the function:
The Product Development Executive is a self-motivated individual who can work alongside a number of internal specialists within our Product Development Team, as well as external stakeholders from our partners. You will usually work at our offices, but will at times need to fulfill travel requirements and work on-site.
To be successful as a Product Development Executive, you should be strongly bilingual (English and Mandarin) as you will be working across multi-country teams, working with our Chinese counterparts and stakeholders on various projects. You will stay up-to-date with new drafting software and advancements. An exceptional draftsman will demonstrate impeccable attention to detail and have sound knowledge of the discipline they draft for.
You will be expected to travel to countries such as China, Philippines, Singapore as well as domestic travel so sites within Malaysia for extended periods initially, and potentially further ahead whilst understanding the teams based around the world.
The primary place of work will be located in Kuala Lumpur (KL).
Key areas of responsibility:
Technical Drawings
- Following specifications and calculations to create various technical drawings.
- Preparing both rough sketches and detailed work with CAD systems.
- Detailing from schematic design to detailed design drawings.
- Provide material suggestions for the environment the equipment will be used in.
- Packing plans for container space optimisation.
- Communicating with architects and engineers, and incorporating knowledge gained into drawings.
- Preparing, reviewing and redrafting alongside the Product Development team.
- Ensuring final designs are compliant with regulations.
- Identifying and communicating potential design problems to the rest of the team.
Optimization and Problem Solving:
- Identify potential design issues and collaborate with the team to troubleshoot and refine models and graphics.
- Optimize design drafts for efficiency in rendering, keeping the game's technical limitations in mind.
- Collaborate with product development team and designers to translate conceptual ideas into detailed technical drawings and designs.
- Work with graphic design team to develop highly detailed 2D and 3D design drafts of game units.
- Create technical schematics and models to guide game developers during the development phase.
Rendering and Modeling:
- Work with rendering software to produce high-quality 3D models and assets (to be decided) of our game units.
- Ensure that rendered assets meet quality standards.
- Collaborate with animators and modelers to ensure seamless integration of 3D models.
Software Proficiency:
- Use industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, Blender, Maya, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketchup) to create detailed design drafts and renderings.
- Stay updated on new design and rendering software to improve productivity and output quality.
Project Documentation:
- Prepare comprehensive documentation of all drafts and technical drawings for use in the development and design process.
- Ensure that all documentation is precise and updated throughout the game development lifecycle.
