Product Advisor & Expeditor

About the location

The position will be based in Kuala Lumpur office which is in the heart of the city and easy to get to by public transportation.

What you will be doing

1. Proactively attend to customer inquiries for non-standard products and direct troubleshooting activities of WSS equipment to Product Management.
2. Ensure continuous communication with Customer Service, Operations, Product Managers, and Procurement.
3. Continuous follow up for non-standard products quotes and orders on sub-status ‘Awaiting Approval’ and responsible for advising cost price of a quote and order.
4. Support the set-up of new business ventures.
5. Local sourcing activities including:
1. Order unavailable non-standard items from suppliers.
2. Obtain price, lead time, delivery costs, and delivery terms from suppliers.
3. Benchmark “offers” and select “best” supplier.
4. PO (Purchase Order) issuance to supplier.
5. Maintain receiving dates for incoming PO from suppliers.
6. Receive PO for non-inventory orders.
7. Ensure Local Customer Service is informed of all delivery costs and terms.
8. Resolve order-related issues in collaboration with Product Management.
6. Register non-standard products.
7. Marine Supply Service (MSS) activities including:
1. SQ (Sales Quotation) / CO (Customer Order) issuance to Customer.
2. PO issuance to Supplier.
3. Delivery instructions to Operations and Suppliers.
4. Monitoring order arrangement and delivery.
5. Closing of PO and CO.
6. Registration of customer, supplier, and products.
7. Pre-posting for supplier PO.
8. Supplier & customer invoice payment.
9. Payment issues with customer order.
10. Consultation on delivery route.
11. Regular communication with Local Customer Service with necessary information concerning delivery status of orders i.e., charges, delays, availability etc.
12. Provide complete and updated information to warehouse concerning time and place of delivery from Supplier(s).
13. Prepare cost pricing information towards final invoicing of service performed.
14. Maintain required control reports and documentation.
15. Assist other departments as needed on stock orders and purchase orders.
16. Ensure that transport is done in an efficient and cost-effective way in line with demand.
17. Ensure product offers to customer requests are within the agreed scope and guidelines and if uncertain to seek consultation with Product Manager.
18. Ensure compliance with all rules and regulations.
19. Responsible for correct document flow, reporting, and tracking timely deliveries.
20. Any other responsibility put forward that is not covered by this FD (within reasonable limits).

What experience and skills required

1. Candidate should possess a bachelor's degree preferably in Logistics Management or Operations Management.
2. At least 2 years relevant work experience with supply chain/logistics; however, fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
3. Fluent in English - both writing and speaking.
4. Required skill(s): Computer Literate (Good in MS Office).
5. Able to prioritize, customer-oriented with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Good planning and organizing skills.
7. Good analytical skills, attention to detail and meticulous.
8. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, positive attitude, and a good team player.
9. Able to meet deadlines through good time management and allocation of priorities.
10. Desire to succeed in a challenging environment and able to work under pressure.
11. Pleasant character, resourceful & able to work with sincerity on own initiative.
12. Able to commit to shift working hours.
