Supplier Management: Evaluate, select, and manage suppliers based on performance, cost-effectiveness, and reliability. Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure quality and timely delivery.
Contract Management: Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions. Ensure all contracts are compliant with legal and regulatory requirements. Monitor contract performance and enforce contract terms as necessary.
Procurement Process Improvement: Continuously review and enhance procurement processes within the university to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and streamline operations. Implement best practices and innovative procurement technologies.
Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure procurement activities within the university comply with all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies related to procurement.
Budget Management: Develop and manage the procurement budget for the university, monitoring spending and cost control measures. Report on procurement-related financial metrics to senior university management.
Vendor Negotiations: Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable pricing, terms, and conditions. Identify opportunities for volume discounts and long-term cost savings.
Market Research: Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and emerging technologies to make informed procurement decisions that benefit the company.
Sustainability and Ethical Procurement: Promote sustainable and ethical procurement practices within the university, including sourcing from environmentally responsible suppliers and promoting diversity and inclusion in the supplier base.
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
Proven experience in procurement and supply chain management, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role.
Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, contract negotiation, and supplier management.
Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to work effectively in events, engineering or construction environments.
Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
Familiarity with relevant regulations and compliance requirements.
Proficiency in English, Mandarin, Cantonese, and Malay.
