The opportunity:
- As a cross-functional role, this role reports to the Senior Manager of Operational Risk, Resilience & Procurement, with the goal to be a trusted commercial business partner that enables QBE to obtain and sustain the most value through our supply models and relationships for claims procurement.
- This role will be responsible for the end-to-end Procurement process and will take full responsibility for all claims suppliers and supply chains to ensure it meets QBE’s business and customer needs.
Your new role:
- Develop and implement category strategies including stakeholders’ engagement of Claims business units.
- Build robust relationships with stakeholders and ensure that business objectives and requirements are at the core of procurement strategies.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with business unit representatives to collaboratively drive benefits.
- Apply stakeholder influencing and convincing skills to ensure the best outcome for QBE.
- Create category plan, strategy, and program to deliver cost optimisation and service enhancements to the Claims team.
- Manage/Support end-to-end sourcing process.
- Provide subject matter expertise and advice in the selection of appropriate methodologies, tools, and technologies.
- Contribute actively to the selection of qualitative suppliers, define KPIs, evaluate supplier performance and compliance to policy.
- Manage end-to-end contracting process for all Claims contracts.
- Negotiate changes to contracts with suppliers in accordance with QBE risk and compliance requirements and procurement policy and ensure contracts support QBE category and business objectives.
- Ensure compliance with Procurement policy and procedures.
- Drive the improvement of supplier performance through proactively managing relationships, measuring performance against contractual requirements, service standards, and adherence to commercial provision.
- Manage the usage of Claims Provider Portal and identify opportunities for enhancement.
- Translate business requirements into tender documentation and contractual KPIs and SLAs.
- Develop supplier performance/relationship management framework with Claims Managers.
- Actively draw together all relevant information and insights (via internal dashboard or external data) to deliver commercial outcomes to QBE.
- Demonstrate the value of data-driven decision making to the business.
About you:
- Minimum 8 years of experience in Procurement function within Financial Services (preferably in Insurance).
- A degree holder.
- Strong analytical, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent communication skills with all levels of organization and suppliers.
- Fluent in both spoken and written English.
- Required to work unsupervised with a high degree of independence of action.
- Able to identify opportunities to work collaboratively with other teams/units to resolve issues and develop best solutions.
- Proficient in Excel (e.g. use of Pivot table), PowerPoint and other analytical tools.
