As a Procurement Team Lead, you will support the departments in the implementation of sourcing strategies and collaborate with internal business partners and suppliers to reduce risks and costs for the Company, monitor the team performance and budget allocated for the department. The ideal candidate thinks long-term, drives initiatives, communicates appropriately, and engages stakeholders at all levels. To be successful in this role, you have a sense of urgency to meet deadlines, possess leadership qualities, exhibit an intense curiosity and learning drive, succeed in a fast-paced environment, and have a high level of customer focus and business judgment.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor performance against department KPI’s and delivery results.
  • Manage, lead, schedule, allocate and monitor work of procurement team members.
  • Provide training for the procurement team to ensure maximum performance.
  • Review suppliers for compliance with company’s quality criteria.
  • Work with Product Department and Immediate Reporting Head to execute strategic sourcing and vendor selection.
  • Issue purchase orders, monitor and manage purchase orders through their full lifecycle.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers. Evaluate performance and areas of opportunity.
  • Perform routine follow-up and effective resolution tactics to settle fulfilment issues and invoice variances.
  • Assist with inventory management as it relates to procurement activities.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with teams to take stocking positions and make purchasing decisions.
  • Identify opportunities for implementation of cost savings and process improvements.
  • Proactively manage the status of items as they move through the procurement lifecycle and communicate them to internal and external stakeholders promptly.
  • Responsible to maintain and manage the P&L of the products.
  • Work hand in hand with Finance Department on the cost and budget allocation.
  • Assist the team and department day-to-day job to ensure all related activities are done according to the SOP and guidelines set.

Requirements:

  • Degree in any field related to the position applied.
  • 5 years of experience as a procurement/purchasing/buyer/sourcing or in a similar position. Candidate from telco industries are highly preferred.
  • Ability to interact professionally and adapt to a wide variety of different communication styles both inside and outside the organization.
  • Ability to recognize, analyze, and offer solutions to problems or involve the necessary people to ensure the problem is properly resolved.
  • The ability to make sound decisions to successfully integrate objectives, opportunities, and resources and liaise with other cross-functional employees and work with multiple processes and procedures.
  • Time management skills are necessary to successfully manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Accounting and mathematical skills to conduct value analysis, discrepancy resolution, and the review of bids and pricing proposals.
  • Ability to acquire detailed knowledge of specific customers, pricing, products, product lines, and packing & shipping standards.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office.
