About the role

PROTECTHEALTH CORPORATION SDN. BHD. is seeking an experienced Procurement Lead to join our team in Cyberjaya, Selangor on a contract basis. In this position, your responsibilities will include establishing and leading a new procurement section from the ground up, managing complex procurement projects, negotiating contracts with suppliers, and building strong relationships with key vendors.

What you'll be doing

• Develop and implement the procurement function, including establishing policies, procedures, and processes to ensure operational excellence and compliance.
• Lead and manage the procurement of goods and services for assigned categories, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to budget, and quality standards.
• Create and execute strategic sourcing plans to identify and secure the most qualified and cost-effective suppliers.
• Conduct comprehensive market research and supplier analysis to evaluate potential vendors and negotiate optimal pricing and terms.
• Build and nurture strong relationships with key suppliers, fostering collaboration and ensuring long-term partnerships.
• Oversee the entire procurement lifecycle, from requisition to contract management and supplier performance evaluation.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of procurement operations.
• Analyse procurement data and generate detailed reports to track performance, identify trends, and measure cost savings.
• Stay informed about market trends, industry best practices, and legal developments impacting procurement to ensure the department’s competitive edge.
• Contribute to the overall procurement strategy and align procurement goals with the organisation’s objectives.
  

What we're looking for

• A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• 7-10 years of proven experience in procurement, with a strong track record of setting up and managing procurement functions, preferably within the healthcare industry.
• Demonstrated success in achieving cost savings and optimizing procurement processes.
• Expertise in managing complex procurement projects and negotiating high-value contracts.
• Strong understanding of sourcing strategies, negotiation techniques, and contract management principles.
• Proficiency in procurement software and technology tools.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to build and lead a team effectively.
