PROCUREMENT EXECUTIVE-INDIRECT MATERIALS

Purpose of Role:

1. To manage cost effective and timely supply as well as fulfilment of the purchase and procurement of respective materials/service assigned.
2. This is to be done by implementing systems and processes to meet Weir Minerals Malaysia’s customer services requirements and supplier management.
3. This incorporates both product and information flow and includes the ordering process, monitoring of orders, liaison with internal customers and external suppliers.

1. To execute procurement strategies that align with organizational goals.
2. To manage effectively and efficiently the supply of assigned category.
3. To assess supplier's performance while managing supplier relationships to ensure quality and timely delivery of goods and services.
4. To negotiate contracts and cost-effective deals with vendors.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

• A degree in Materials Management, Supply Chain Management or Operations Management.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in executive role with relations to Purchasing, Procurement, preferably in a manufacturing organization.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Quality Issue (ISO) and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
• Strong negotiation and leadership skills.
